Bean Day readings?

Recommend secondary readings for my book club.

My first ever book club is meeting in a few weeks to discuss Dustin Long's Icelander.

Can you suggest a secondary reading? Perhaps an amazing essay on post-modern mystery fiction, or a very enlightening review of the book? Or maybe a short story that may have influenced the book?
