Active Holiday end October?

I'm looking for a holiday destination. Last weeks of October where I can hike (mountains), bike (atb) and learn diving (padi). No resorts or too much luxury, just basic accomodation. I'm alone so it would be nice to meet more travellers. Doe you have suggestions?

Southeast Asia is pretty nice that time of year. It's a popular holiday destination, so you're bound to meet other tourists. Specifically, Cambodia or Thailand might fit your specifications.

My wife and I recently got PADI certified in Bocas del Toro, Panama. We were told by several international hostel-mates that it's one of the cheapest places in the world to do so. If you go, consider staying on Isla Bastimentos next door, it's cheaper and quieter. There are mountains nearby on the mainland (including a volcano) to hike and bike.
