Can I force my DVR to pick up a later showing of a program?

Is there a way to force our DVR to record a later showing of a program?
So my family just got DirectTV with a DVR. I'd like to catch up on my Jetsons, which is shown on Boomerang 3 times a day (the same episode all 3 times). The problem is, the first showing of the day is at 6:00am, at which time there is another show I want to record, and another show my mom wants to record. (The other time slots are 2:30am and 12:30pm, but the 2:30am showing is the episode from the previous day.) Our DVR only has 2 tuners, so we can only record 2 at once. Even if I go to one of the later time slots for The Jetsons in the guide and start the Record Series there, by the next day it goes back to picking up the first episode of the day, leaving us with a recording conflict. Is there any way to force the DVR to record a later showing of the same episode?

The brand and model of the DVR is necessary information to answer this question properly. DVR is a generic term like VCR--they all work differently and have different buttons and features.
For instance: On a TiVo, you would set your Jetsons season pass to have a lower priority than your other two shows, and it would record whichever Jetsons episodes had no conflicts with those shows. Or you could set a manual recording time and channel like you would on a VCR. Or you could look at the list of the next two weeks' worth of Jetsons episodes and manually select just the 12:30pm episodes to record.

You can set up a manual recording.
The option should be under "Scheduler" or "Manage Recordings".

Best answer: Assuming you have the same or similar DirectTV DVR to mine:
Go to Menu -> Manage Recordings -> Prioritizer and set the other two shows to a higher priority that the Jetsons. That should take care of it.

Response by poster: Argh. It seems I misunderstood the problem. She's NOT recording a show, she just wants a tuner free so that she can watch the news in the morning. NOW is there any way to record a later showing of the Jetsons?
I have the DirectTV R16 DVR.

Best answer: Set that timeslot of the news to record, so it'll bump the Jetsons to the next showing.
