My extended family is looking into a tour of Alaska that would involve 15-20 people (including some younger kids), spending about a week to see the natural highlights. Can anyone recommend a good tour company?

I was invited to a cool work conference in Anchorage Alaska in late June, and after the conference I would really really really like to try and see Denali if at all possible. I will only have 2 - 2 1/2 days. Aside from the short time-frame, I will be all by myself. Also, I have two legs and can walk, but 'wilderness survival,' is not exactly something I have any mastery off. Any general advice, specific advice, or help would be appreciated. [more inside]

I'm spending next week with family in southcentral Alaska and I'd like to take my mom to a nice day spa in the area. I'm not having much luck getting a sense of what places are good from online searches. I'm basically looking for a great, warm atmosphere and quality massages. It doesn't have to be super-fancy (but that would ok too!), but it does need to be an enjoyable place--not run-down or unfriendly, if that makes sense. Are there any hidden gems that I should look into?

I'm trying to plan a trip to Fairbanks, Alaska next March in the hopes of seeing the northern lights. I'd be happy for any tips you might have in general for trips to alaska/northern lights viewing. However, my first concern (as I do more research) is clothing - I'm in Georgia, and doubt I have anything that is suitable for March in Fairbanks. (-20 to 50 degrees?) [more inside]

I'm planning on visiting Alaska in June of 2011 with my boyfriend and was wondering if anyone has recommendations for small ship excursions. I hate, hate cruises and have no interest in a big cruise ship package. Looking for something smaller and more adventurous, with a younger crowd. Not exactly sure what I want to do specifically, but glacier hiking and fishing/catching seafood would be definite pluses. I don't know much about Alaska but I'd like to see some of the cooler towns along the way as well. Has anyone had any great small ship experiences in Alaska? By small, I mean anything from 10 people to 100, but just none of those big ship casino-and-canned-entertainment experiences. Thanks!
