And I think a Baldwin brother is in it too?

Help me remember the name of an obscure B-movie that came out around 2005.

I rented this on DVD in 2005, but I cannot remember the name of it, even with the help of Google and IMDb searches. Relevant details:

* The main plot revolves around a guy who's kidnapped and locked up in a shed and hit on the head with a golf club once a day until he loses his mind.
* He develops a goose egg on the side of his and starts hallucinating. Eventually he escapes. Implausibly, he retains most of his cognitive capacity, with the exception that he's now crazy/homicidal.
* There's a woman/love interest who the main character ends up killing (I think). She works at a homeless shelter.

It wasn't a movie I enjoyed, it just bugs me that I cannot remember it, even with aid of Internet searches (which never failed me before).

Thanks!

Best answer: It's King of the Ants. IMDB

Best answer: King of the Ants? I can't find a detailed enough synopsis to know if that's right or not, but it sounds like it could be, and it has Daniel Baldwin in it. Complete guess based on Google-fu, though.

Okay, looks like I was right. By the way, I found it by searching Google for 'man gets hit in the head with a golf club every day baldwin'.

It's the first result.

Response by poster: Thanks! Ask MeFi continues to amaze me. I'm marking both of you as best answer because you were only two minutes apart.

joshrholloway, damn. I fail at Google. Is there a course I can take to brush up? :-)

....Out of curiosity --

"I found it by searching Google for 'man gets hit in the head with a golf club every day baldwin'."

How did you think to put "Baldwin" in the search string? I just noticed that it wasn't one of the original remembered details and was wondering whether you were just using the law of averages, say. (smile)

@EmpressCallipygos: I first did a search for 'man gets hit in the head with a golf club every day' but did not find any significant results. Usually when searching for a movie or TV show, naming actors, characters, or locations helps narrow it down. He said he thought there might be a Baldwin brother in it, so I took a shot in the dark.

The OP mentioned "Baldwin brother" in the title of the thread, even though it isn't in the list of details.

Response by poster: Sorry about the confusion, guys. I was only vaguely certain about the Baldwin aspect, so I didn't include it in the main details.

Oh, THERE'S the Baldwin mention.

Sorry, as you were.
