Is there an equivalent of IMDB or Allmusic for books? i.e. A site that lists all books written by a particular author with ratings, reviews, comments etc? English language based.

LibraryThing is your friend :) It does not cover all books but it goes a long way!

I've switched over from LibraryThing to GoodReads, but they're both useful.

Most bookstores and libraries use Global Books in Print for their book searching needs but you need to be a subscriber to get access. Check your library's website to see if you can online access through them.

Open Library (which is currently in beta) aspires to be the source you are looking for: "one web page for every book".

I switched to GoodReads from LibraryThing as well, so I recommend GoodReads over it.

WorldCat is useful, esp. if you are also getting citations.

For general bibliographic data (and links to other sites for each book) see also ISBNdb
