LaGuardia-Tribeca Express?

LaGuardia Airport to Tribeca - Monday morning after 9:00AM. What are my options?

I am flying into NYC to see Les Paul and to take part in the events that are going on throughout the week for Buckminster Fuller. I am staying at a friends place in Tribeca and want to get feedback from those who know the city on how to get there.

Well, all your options are listed here. The simplest will be to just go ahead and take a taxi. Should cost you around 40 bucks, including tip.

Cheapest (and surprisingly easy) route is definitely to take the M60 bus, it runs about every 10 minutes from LaGuardia and it will take you right to the N, W Subway at Astoria Blvd (the drivers are usually pretty good about announcing the stop loudly). When you're coming out of the terminal gate, just follow the signs to "Ground Transportation."

Make sure you have $2 in CHANGE on you, buses don't take dollar bills. Should take you less than an hour to get to your friend's place. If you've got huge bags though, this might not be the route for you. I say the next best dollar-for-dollar value is SuperShuttle, and it will bring you to your friend's door.

The M60 connects with most major subway lines, all within the space of about 10 minutes (the N/W, then the 4/5/6, then the 2/3, then the A/B/C/D). Your friend can tell you which is the best line for reaching his/her place.

The longer you stay on the M60, the more you see of 125th St (always a fascinating ride... one of the fastest-changing streets in NYC).

As you disembark, near baggage claim, there's a big desk with helpful folks belonging to the NY Transit authority. They can get you on any sort of transportation to your friend's place.

My personal preference is the shuttle, as it's cleaner than the bus, and it's luggage friendly. Beware, however, that it's a good deal pricier, and the drivers typically look for tips (I usually go about 5 bucks).

I'd also suggest the M60 if you don't have many bags, if you don't want to pay for a cab. The M60 is actually quicker than taking a shuttle (usually) because you don't have to wait for them to fill the shuttle and don't have to wait for other passengers to be dropped off. There's not much of a difference, though.
