Please help me find appliance stores in Paris

A friend of mine owns an appliance store in the United States. He will be taking a trip to Europe and while in Paris he was hoping to check out how they do things there.

I have tried looking for appliance stores in the French version of Google Maps, also tried google.fr looking for "appliance stores" Paris. I have not come up with any good results.

Does anyone have a suggestion for how I might be able to locate appliance stores in Paris? Do they have appliance stores like we have in the US? (i.e. washers, dryers, refrigerators, electronics under one roof)

Mappable results would be major plus.

A department store should have appliances. Try Galeries Lafayette on Haussman in Paris. This would be sort of like going to Macy's in New York though, so perhaps it's not, uh, mainstream enough for your friend's needs. But certainly there will be appliances.

They do, but mainly big chains like Darty I'd say.
Though I'm sure there are smaller ones too, but I wouldn't be able to think of examples.
The term you'd be looking for when googling is "électroménager."

(can offer to look up some specific examples, but later, must tend to my pizza now)

A map of all the Darty stores in Paris - click on each one to get a detailed plan. Darty is one of the main consumer electronics chains in France. Otherwise type "Electromenager" & Paris into the Commerces section of maps.google.fr.

And to answer your other question, yes they do have one stop places for all those types of goods. Often large supermarkets will have a large white goods section. If he wants to see one of those he could try the Carrefour (I think) at the Porte de Montreuil.

Is La Samaritaine still closed?
They sold lots of washers and dryers, and advertised heavily in the Metro.
But that was at least 5 years ago...

here is one your friend may find interesting. If he looks for tools, hammer, wood, etc. he's looking for a Castorama or a Leroy Merlin.

Other than that your friend can enter "électroménager" and "Paris" in the "Les Professionnels" section of this.

Should he decide to visit Belgium too, the best places to go are called Vandenborre (same as Darty, roughly) or Brico (tools, hammer, saw, etc.)

If he's interested in the Good Stuff, in Switzerland we have V-Zug (Vau Zug). The factory is across the street from me. They make the finest appliances I've ever seen anywhere. Especially the washing machines impress. Front-loading yet they run smooth as silk.
