Help with Battery Backup

Does anyone know where I can find the operating software and a manual for an HP Powerwise 2100 Battery Backup? APC bought HP's battery backups unit in 1994, but this unit seems to work great. I want to control it from my PC but have no software and no instructions. I've visited all of the manual sites and software download sites I can think of.

Best answer: If it's that old, I doubt there's software that'll run on a modern operating system that will talk to it... unless there's some esoteric driver buried somewhere for Linux. Even then, you'll need the communications cable... probably serial... to hook to the computer.

If you're just using it to maintain power for your desktop computer, it'll work just fine without the communications software. It'll run on battery until the battery dies, then the power shut off and your computer turns off. It's not as critical for a home system that "proper shutdown" be executed as if you were running an Oracle DB or something.
