Good Money Market Accounts

Where can I find a good FDIC insured money market account?

I'm looking of an account I can write checks from and that I can open for $1000. One with a high yield would be good too. Does anyone have some specific names?

Flagstar's looks pretty good: no minimum, no monthly fees, and a decent yield. But check out ths FatWallet thread for other options. If you have $10,000, for example, Corus will give you 4.0%.

The BankDeals blog is pretty much the definitive resource for these kinds of things in my opinion. Check the latest weekly summary.

I'd check bankrate.com.

ING currently has about the best Money Market account - however often the best accounts are relationship driven at a local community bank (the small banks often provide great service on top of great rates). Best of luck to you!
