Where can I find RAM for an old Sony Vaio PCV-7762 desktop?
I have an old Sony Vaio PCV-7762 desktop with 480 MB of RAM.
As you can imagine, it doesn't handle multiple apps very well. I want to upgrade the memory, but I simply can't find memory for this model ANYWHERE.
Can any of you point me in the right direction? I am baffled by this one.

Response by poster: THANKS!!
I use the USB port on the front, so I never noticed that the model number is on the front as well. The front of my computer says PCV-RX850, the tag on the back ( which I was looking at) says, says PCV-7762
I'm wondering if they used different model numbers of the same computer for different retailers, so they could say " if you find the same model at a lower price we will refund the difference...."
thanks

According to the specs sheet it uses standard PC-2100 DDR memory, which you should be able to get at just about any PC place worth their salt. (This doesn't include Best Buy or Circuit City.)

More places will sell PC-3200 than PC-2100, and it will also work. You should be able to buy and ship 1GB for less than $40 online.

If you investigate further and find this to be true, I believe crucial has memory for this model here.
