I'm looking for a network packet sniffer that will run on Mac OS 9. Does such a thing exist? Thanks!

Wireshark, the successor to Ethereal, might fit the bill for you.

Whatroute version 1.8.11 runs under MacOS 9 and has a port of the standard tcpdump tool.

Oops, meant to say, that Etherpeek might work for you. Wireshark will not work on OS 9, sorry.

Etherpeek is what my old school mac pals used to use to laugh at reading my email (I didn't know about switched ethernet back then).

Response by poster: Thanks for the suggestions. I'm testing Whatroute now. I can't seem to find any of the early versions of the Etherpeek program.

I use CarnivorePE for my packet sniffing needs. Not sure if the earlier versions work on OS 9 or not.
