Can you figure out what song I've been listening to?

There is a very chilled out french language song I usually hear at (NYC, downtown, east side) brunch spots, I'd love get a copy of this song and others like it, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is.

Sorry I don't have much info, but it is a female singing, sounds kind of jazz via electronic, I've tried google and iTunes to no avail.

Of course I'll ask next time I hear it, but I'm hoping to get a brunch soundtrack together soon, so any help and/or recs would be greatly appreciated!

Best answer: Could it be Stereolab? They're British, but most of their vocals are in French.

oops, that should be Un Simple Histoire.

Alternatively, might it be 'Sous le Soleil' (iTunes tells me it's by Major Boys featuring Aurelia). In any case, it's a good brunch song :-)

Why not just ask the staff what it is, next time you hear it? I mean, we could be guessing unproductively all day.

Something by Yael Naim? She sings in French, Hebrew, and English on her album.

I've had brunch twice in the past year in NYC and both times I heard Sympatique by Pink Martini, so I'll make that my totally random stab in the dark guess.

April March perhaps?

I was gonna say "Lebanese Blonde", by Thievery Corporation, 'cause it meets your description criteria and gets played in every lounge and cafe in Manhattan at least thirty times a week. But yeah, it could be anything from Thievery's The Mirror Conspiracy record or "Un Simple Histoire", from The Richest Man in Babylon.

It sounds like it could be Vive la fete, who I believe are Belgian, or maybe there's an off chance it's Carla Bruni, Sarkozy's wife
