Turn-by-Turn routing software?

I'm looking for PC/Laptop map routing software with turn-by-turn control, where you can define the origin, destination, and stops along the way and then traverse the suggested route junction by junction, making changes (such as specifying a turn at a specific location) along the way, with the remainder of the route automatically recalculated following each change.

My previous mapping software was Microsoft Streets and Trips (2004 edition, I believe), and I simulated this functionality using extra "stops" and the "avoid this area" tool with only limited success.

Google Maps lets you grab part of a route and drag it to another part of the map. It's awesome.
