I'm looking for an article (couple years old probably) about Barack Obama "stealing" the author's girlfriend.

I think the tone of the article was mostly jokey and self-depricating. From what I remember, the guy took his date to an obama event (speech?) which ended up being the last date with that particular woman. He wrote an article (newspaper?) where he blamed Obama's charisma for making her realize she could do much better than the author. He then demands that Obama "apologize" for this, and leaves his contact info.

The awesome part, is that Obama hears about this story, and actually calls the guy and leaves him a message. From what I remember, Obama says something like "I'm sorry for messing up your game, man." The guy posts the voicemail on his website.

I'm thinking this was an article in a newspaper, but I remember reading it online. Any ideas?

I remembered Obama using the phrase about messing up the guy's game on the phone call, so I found it via googling "your game" + Obama + reporter + call.

Here's the story, on the Mother Jones blog. Click on the link at "phoned" and you can hear the phone call itself. (For more context, go to the "Wait, Wait" site, at "Opening Panel Round.")
