I need good quotes for a gift for my girlfriend!

This Friday is a big day for us (for whatever reasons), and after thinking really long and really hard, I've decided I'm going to make her either a big jar of cookies with little fortunes in them, or a jar with cookies wrapped separately inside and little notes with a combination of things from myself and quotes.
In either situation I need appropriate quotes.

Guidelines:

1. Okay, so we're still in high school, but that doesn't make the occasion any less exciting [perhaps even more so]. And it doesn't make us lazy or stupid. She's one of the most brilliant people I know.

2. She's big on cinema, and she's studying it in school pretty intensively, so good movie quotes would be great.

3. We're both huge Beatles' fans, so something not too overused from one of their songs could fit (for example, the song Her Majesty was practically written about her!)

4. We're a lesbian couple, so quotes about the way "guys feel about girls" are not really applicable, nor are they usually any good in general.

In short, be creative!

e.e. cummings has some nice poetry that you might like, although not sure it would work in a cookie jar. other sites abound, this was just the first i came upon.

Nothing you could say to take me away from my girl!

well, the last line from James Joyce's Ulysses is pretty legendary:

...yes I said yes I will Yes.

It's from Molly Bloom's soliloquy as she falls asleep, remembering the moment she knew she was in love with Leopold, who would become her husband. (The full quote is clearly in reference to a hetero couple, but the famous final seven words are obviously not gender specific.)

Conventionally romantic Beatles lyrics (don't know how overused they are): Something; Good Day Sunshine; Got to Get You Into My Life; I've Just Seen a Face; If I Fell; All I've Got to Do; And I Love Her; Long Long Long (I believe George wrote it more about spiritual longing, but it's still pretty romantic); Things We Said Today.

Less conventional Beatles possibilities: Happiness is a Warm Gun (you know, the "when I feel my fingers on your trigger" line); Honey Pie; I Want You (She's So Heavy); Love You To.

Well, I think these are relatively gender-neutral quotes, though I guess they're all by men... I'm not sure if they're what you're looking for. Still:

Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.
--James Baldwin

Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can. All of them make me laugh.
---W.H. Auden

We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.
-- e. e. cummings

The world is wonderful and beautiful and good beyond one's wildest imagination. Never, never, never could one conceive what love is, beforehand, never.
----D. H. Lawrence

I fell in love with her courage, her sincerity, and her flaming self-respect, and it's these things I'd believe in even if the whole world indulged in wild suspicions that she wasn't all she should be. I loved her and that's the beginning of everything.
---F. Scott Fitzgerald

Oh, and this one happens to be my favorite E. E. Cummings poem.

Emily Dickinson (supposedly the demure, sexless virgin) wrote this:

Wild Nights—Wild Nights!
Were I with thee
Wild Nights should be
Our luxury!

Futile—the Winds—
To a Heart in port—
Done with the Compass—
Done with the Chart!

Rowing in Eden—
Ah, the Sea!
Might I but moor—Tonight—
In Thee!

E. E. Cummings wrote this one... it's how a guy feels about a girl, but it's quite gender neutral:

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Both of those have a few lines that could be appropriate. As for quotes, I've always liked 'Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon'.

"You are only as good as the woman you are standing beside." - Charlie Chaplin

"If anyone does not believe in Venus, they should gaze at my girl friend" - Pompeiian graffiti

"I count only the bright hours." - sundial inscription

"kisses are a far better fate / than wisdom" - e. e. cummings

and, as a goof,

Write down the three things you like about her the most. Tell her those things very directly.

Love is what makes two people sit in the middle of the bench when there is room at both ends.

Who knows how long I've loved you
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime
If you want me to
I will

For if I ever saw you
I didn't catch your name
But it never really mattered
I will always feel the same

Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we're together
Love you when we're apart

And when at last I find you
Your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you
Make it easy to be near you
For the things you do endear you to me
How you know I will
I will

I'd love to turn you on.

She's well acquainted with the touch of a velvet hand.

I once had a girl,
Or should I say
She once had me.

Why don't we do it in the road?
