Video Game blogs? Know any good ones? i can find listings just fine, but i'm looking for quality. (More inside)

not looking for PR sites or portal sites, but just regular people. Preferably with an above grade-school writing level and/or some insight into the industry.

and of course an iridium-electroplated pony.

There's Joystiq; an offshoot of the usually well-written Engadget.

I don't follow that area, but it seems that the recently launched Joystiq may fit your description. (Though as I said, I can't vouch for its quality since I don't read it.)

I love Penny Arcade, I know it's a comic, but their blog is great too.

Xemu's Game Industry Ramblings, Hello Nintendo, EEG News, Greg Costikyan, Slashdot Games (Simoniker is pretty much the only poster), Ludologist, and Terranova.

Game Matters... a blog by 3drealms guy Scott Miller, is excellent. Especially all the inside stuff about royalties and publishing.

Kid Fenris is a site that my girlfriend is always reading and praises highly; certainly every time she shows me one of the articles, I'm impressed =)
