Covered in Rain

I want to Listen to the Rhythm of the Falling Rain. Or more accurately, make a CD mix of rain songs.
Steve Earle: And the Rain Came Down, Cowboy Mouth: God Sends the Rain, Vanilli Milli: Blame It On The Rain, Phil Collins: I Wish It Would Rain Down, Kenny Burrell: I Think It's Going to Rain Today, theBJ Thomas tune, Beetles Rain Lyrics, are some of the ones I have.
Not just a mere reference to rain, but more of rain as a motif, or as the subject itself.
Neil Young: Be The Rain, Gene Kelly: Singin' in the Rain, Tay Zonday's Chocolate Rain, Grateful Dead: Cold Rain and Snow, GNR: November Rain ... while I enjoy these artists, these type songs, are not so much what I'm seeking. Lyrics are important, so while much Jazz is evocitive of rain, if it has no vocal, it misses the point. Emo, Thrash, Rap and Opera are the only genres I have very little interest in.

Not that it goes well with anything else here, but Cyan from Monolake's Hongkong (not from the single) has a fantastically rainy opening. I can't find any full track previews, but here's the transition from the rainy soundscape intro to the minimal dub techno of the full song.

Watch the Rain - Madeline
Early Mornin' Rain - Peter, Paul & Mary
Sit and Listen to the Rain - Whiskeytown
Seasons by Terence Trent D'Arby doesn't mention rain anywhere though I coulda sworn it did. It's very evocative; a rainy day inside empty house kind of song. And it uses a some kind of sound that sounds a lot like rain (but isn't).

Plenty of country songs:
Keith Urban - Raining on Sunday *
Tim McGraw - 40 Days and 40 Nights
Tim McGraw - She's My Kind of Rain *
Tim McGraw - Tears in the Rain
Garth Brooks - The Thunder Rolled (it's more about thunder, but it's got actual rain noises)
Jo Dee Messina - Bring on the Rain *
Buddy Jewell - Help Poor Out the Rain (Lacey's Song)
(Not country)
Jack McMahon - The Rain Came Down
And, a song about songs about rain:
Gary Allan - Songs About Rain
(this is also a good source in itself)
* = the songs I like the most. I'd also be tempted to use the Gary Allan song, if only for the sheer meta-ness. There's a ton more, but those are off the top of my head (and my iPod).

Randy Newman's I Think It's Going To Rain Today
Broken windows and empty hallways
A pale dead moon in the sky streaked with gray
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it's going to rain today
Scarecrows dressed in the latest styles
With frozen smiles to chase love away
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it's going to rain today
Lonely, lonely
Tin can at my feet
Think I'll kick it down the street
That's the way to treat a friend
Bright before me the signs implore me
To help the needy and show them the way
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it's going to rain today
