Where to get jewelry appraised in NYC?

Need to get my jewelry appraised in the Manhattan area. Preferable a place that's open late or even on the weekend. Also, I understand some places charge you a percentage or a fee. I prefer fee.
Thank you!

Most jewelers will give you an appraisal for a small fee. You could try nearly anyone on 47th Street in the Diamond District. Most should be open Sundays (but probably not Saturdays). i don't know if any of the bigger ones are open evenings.

I'd avoid local jewelers and chainstores (i.e. Zales) - and anyplace that wants you to leave the jewelry. They should be able to do it while you wait (though you may need an appointment.)

Berj Zavian...he has his own place in Manhatten, but he also works with Doyle's auction house and is an appraiser on Antiques Roadshow...his is a family business and his son is still in the shop (and on the show) with him. Cluster Jewelry Co Inc. 48 W 48th #1501 , New York, NY 10036-4007, US. Phone: 212-382-0033. Full disclosure, my dad is also on Roadshow in a different department...we don't get anything out of this, just pointing you towards a nice guy :)
