I've been trying to find an image of Helena Bonham Carter in the picnic scene of Sweeney Todd. Or, more specifically, the pinstripe corset she was wearing in that scene. Having no luck so far, as every image online is of the dress she wears for most of the begining of the movie. Am I stuck waiting for the DVD?

Are you thinking of recreating the corset?

Is this what you are looking for? Looks like a potential picnic scene to me, tho I'm not sure if that's a corset... (I hope my friend will forgive me for linking to her site)

Response by poster: bingo. It looks mostly straightforward, but the button detailing where the busk would normally be leads to some questions (not sure if it's a covered busk, or if there just isn't one). Also, looked to be some unusual details at the back I didn't quite catch in the theater.

Not that I would ever condone watching bootlegged movies, but places like SSupload or Peekvid may have the film online (ok ok Peekvid does, but it seems to be broke right now) where you could get to that scene and get a screenshot.

What elendil71 said, except with torrent sites like isohunt and TPB.

Response by poster: ClarissaWAM, that link leads to a 404. (actually, found it, but that's not the scene I'm looking for. I'm looking for one where she is wearing a black corset with white pinstripes and white buttons down the front, and a black and white striped ruffled skirt.)

Making of the wardrobe for Sweeney Todd by Colleen Atwood. Another film about Colleen Atwood's designs for the film. You can find many custom corsetry places online, and providing them with a still from the movie or whatever, they could probably recreate what you are looking for...

Response by poster: Unicorn on the cob, thanks so much! That's just what I am looking for!

(oh, and I am a custom corset maker, so this will be a DIY effort, I just needed a better visual refrence than my memory alone! ;)

Response by poster: Actually, upon viewing, those are very cool... but detail pretty much every single costume in the movie other than the specific one I'm looking for! (it's shown for about 2 seconds in the first video, but only from the shoulders up)

There are some not so great images here and a little more at about a minute or so into this clip.

Someone here has promised to scan costume pics from the companion book as well.

Did you try some HBC fan sites? Googling for "sweeney todd helena" pulled up this site, which has a few pics of the picnic scene. I didn't click through every pic, so I can't verify that it's got what you're looking for. Worth a glance, though.

Response by poster: katillathehun, thanks! The fan site did have a side view of the corset in question, which confirmed my suspicians that there is some sort of peplum or other funky detailing on the back.

stefanie, I wasn't even aware there was a book. I'll have to check it out.
