Has anyone else had this problem with USPS's Click-N-Ship?

I got an F in Click-N-Ship. Did I fail Christmas with my botched attempt to mail my packages?

I used the USPS Click-N-Ship program to mail off my family's gifts. I weighed everything twice, made sure not to cover any of the barcodes with tape, and then forgot to click the confirmation button that I successfully printed off the receipts. Now they are out in Mail Land and I didn't realize my mistake until 9 hours later.

I have been on hold for over an hour trying to get in touch with a customer service representative from USPS. I have sent an email requesting help and have not gotten a reply yet. I am freaking out and want to see if anyone else has made this mistake and knows what the outcome will be. I tried to go through the motions again and I was charged, but the tracking numbers it printed out were different than the tracking numbers on the original labels.

Has anybody else done the same??

Best answer: Yes, my wife and I did this a year or so ago, and it turns out that they'll get mailed just fine; USPS told us that the system would have the record of our purchase, and when the postage got scanned in the post office, the transaction would automatically be completed. Sure enough, our card got charged and everything got where it was going.

Hope it still works that way, and that your packages get where they're supposed to go!

I haven't used Click-N-Ship myself, but I use Endicia daily (same concept). Someone with actual Click-N-Ship experience may correct me, but I think that if you printed a label that did not have "SAMPLE" obscuring the postage barcode, then your packages have valid postage and will pass through the mail.

My experience is that problems with postage are caught at the very beginning of the package's journey. If there is a problem, I suspect the packages would be returned to you with tomorrow's mail delivery.

I also suspect that packages are under less scrutiny this week than any other week of the year.

Best answer: the only time that screen matters is if you had a problem printing the labels...everything should be as fine as it can be with the USPS :)

Response by poster: Whew!! These answers are making me feel a lot better. I was freaking out. I didn't want them returned to sender or for my relatives to have to pay the postage. I knew I couldn't have been the only one to do this.

Thanks!
