Find me an online fashion home!

Recommend a really good, friendly online fashion forum (or bulletin board, or LJ) for a funky fortysomething.

I'm a member of MakeupAlley, and would like to find something similar for fashion. It can be a message board, Yahoo group, LiveJournal community, or anything similar.

Thing is, I'm not your stereotypical "fashionista." My style runs heavily to thrift-shop finds and handmade silver jewelry. Plus I'm no spring chicken - however, I refuse to go gentle into that Coldwater Creek night; you can have my Betsey Johnson when you cut it off my cold, dead corpse.

So I'd like to find a place to discuss fashion, work clothes, shopping for bargains, Ebaying, the care and feeding of great tailors, etc. that isn't packed full of snotty Carrie Bradshaws, but rather caters to free spirits of all ages and budgets, who just love clothes.

Thanks!

If you're of a visual bent, try the Flickr Wardrobe Remix group.

Wardrobe Remix on Flickr! People post photos of themselves in whatever they're wearing that day. It skews pretty heavily towards DIY and independent designer stuff. It's a great place to get ideas about what to wear, and I like posting photos whenever I'm particularly happy with my outfit.

Another vote for Flickr Wardrobe Remix! Kind of a visual forum of outfits!

Sewcraft dir is a livejournal community where people post about their crafty/fashion comms. You may find something by browsing, or go to the profile page for a non- annotated link to all the communities.
