[boringquestionfilter] Where I can I find one of those collapsible shopping carts in Washington, DC? Specifically, in Adams Morgan?
I live near 18th and Columbia, no car, and I'd like to buy it today, for grocery shopping this evening.

Try the Container Store - it's right near Tenleytown/AU Metro.
I'd also try either a luggage shop or a store that sells things geared toward the disabled like wheelchairs and walkers, if you can find one.

Supermarkets in my suburban Boston neighborhood sell folding carts, so I suspect the same is the case in more pedestrian-friendly Adams Morgan. They're usually in the oversized-items section after the checkouts.

If you walk up to Mt Pleasant, a lot of those local Latino stores on Mt. Pleasant St sell them.

I used to have one of these when I lived in Foggy Bottom and shopped at the Safeway inside the Watergate building. I bought mine from that Safeway, which stocked them because apparently lots of folks pedeshopped there like me. So, they may have them in your local supermarket.

I don't live in your area, but I am a pedestrian. I bought my shopping cart at Fred Meyers, which is also where I do my grocery shopping.
But it isn't very good. It's too small, for one thing. Two of the wheels are itty bitty. It's already broken once, and I had to repair it. It's too short for me, and it doesn't hold enough. That's why I started hunting around on the web, and found the site I linked to above. Yes, you can't get a cart from there today, but perhaps you can get a better one from there, and maybe you should wait.
By the way, the one I bought was "some assembly required". I didn't buy it, unfold it, and use it that day. I bought it, carried it home, put it together, and used it the next day.

I'd try the Cuban store next door to Perry's Rooftop, or the weird stuff store near Mama Mia. Or that place that's on the corner but that looks like some sort of old theater up past the CVS on Columbia road.

I got mine cheap at the National Liquidator's Warehouse near Rhode Island Ave Metro. Also, Trader Joe's near Foggy Bottom sells them (probably with some markup) near checkout.
