Business Card Inspiration

Any favorite sites with examples of visually interesting but still good and effective business cards? Trying to design one myself, need some inspiration. Kind of like this.

There are whole books on interesting business cards, just check the art and design section of your local superbook store like Borders or Barnes and Noble.

Personally, I find all the most clever designs wind up in annual design competitions in magazines like Print or Communication Arts. The design annual issues are like thirty bucks though (for a single issue of a magazine!), so if you have a cool university nearby, it's often possible to cruise through years of expensive design magazine archives for free there (it's what I used to do).

If you're really into design, just subscribe to stuff like Print and CA. It's only about $50 a year, which is probably 1/4 the magazine cover price for a full year of issues (regular issues go for about $8, all the special issues are much higher).

They may not be appropriate for everyday business use, but the blog cards at gapingvoid are interesting; perhaps (s)he'd have a good idea for your specifics and design a personal card for you.

underconsideration's speak up forum is excellent for most things, but you might find this thread particularly interesting. view the comments to see the cards.
