Can anybody recommend a ski shop in Los Angeles that's good for Telemark gear and expertise?

Can't help you with a specific shop, but this site:

http://www.telemarktips.com

Is a pretty good resource and a lot of the members are in California, so I'm sure you would have some luck asking there. There can be a low signal to noise ratio, but that's the internet, right?

What kind of setup are you looking for? I'd be happy to offer advice if you have specific questions.

Response by poster: Pantengliopolli: I actually posted for a friend who wants to get more into Tele skiing (he has some boots already but they're too small, so he's looking for a good bootfitter). I'll see what questions, if any, he's got that I can direct your way. Thanks!

I don't know if they sell it there, but, there is a giant ski swap at the L.A. convention center (next to the Staples Center) the last weekend of 11/30 to 12/2. I know this because I'll be working there. Stop by the Ski Utah booth and say hi.

I second Pantengliopoli's suggestion of Ttips -- there are a few regular posters there who live in SoCal, including the site's owner, so if there's a good shop near you they'll know about it.

... however, I kind of doubt that there IS a good tele shop in LA. If you go up to Mammoth, though, you'll be sure to find lots of great shop help. Ask on Ttips for shop recommendations there too, but Mammoth Mountaineering is a good place to start.
