No bake gingerbread house instructions from late 80s-- please help!

Old Magazine Filter: I made a no-bake gingerbread house from plans from Woman's Day magazine around 1988 or 1990. I'd love to find them again!

Distinguishing features: the house was formed from foam-core board.

The walls were covered with Le Petit Beurre biscuits without chocolate (http://www.tourismebretagne.com/eng/tasty-brittany/flavour/sweets-desserts/petit-beurre-lu.cfm?pageName=desserts).

The chimney was covered in speckled jelly beans which looked like stones.

I think the roof was either Necco wafers or shredded mini-wheats.

The house was probably 18 inches wide by 12 inches deep by 12 inches high.

Please help! I'll be forever grateful!

Response by poster: It might have been Family Circle magazine, maybe.

I found this one from Woman's Day but it doesn't have the kind of ciscuits you are writing about.

I'd find out if your local library system subscribed to that publication during the time period you mention. If they did they might still have it in some form (hardcopy, microfiche, etc).

Do these mags have affiliated websites and/or forums? You might be able to post this question there.

yo, just take some cardboard and put together the basic structure, roof, etc. then make some royal icing and put it into a piping bag. use it to glue the cookies to the cardboard and then everything else too. ba-da-boom.

Response by poster: I'm working on the library option. And I'd just throw something together, except that I want that exact picture to follow-- sentimental value to my mother. Anyone else?

Best answer: Is this it?

from the magazine in this auction

If not, you can try calling the magazines. I was looking for a recipe from a vague memory and called Family Circle with a general description. They happily mailed a photocopy. This was in 1986.

Orangemiles - this looks so cool! Can you give any more details on how it is constructed and with what materials? Awesome!

Response by poster: Actually, it turns out that's not exactly it, according to Mom. I also remember candles in the windows... but it's just so darn close. I have put a call in to Woman's Day and I'll update if I receive anything from them.
