Where can I find an aftermarket 16" wheel cover for a 2005 Totoya Matrix?
I lost one of the wheel covers of my 2005 Toyota Matrix the other day while I was driving. I thought it's something easy and cheap to replace. I went to Walmart and Pepboys, and they both carry wheel covers up to a size of 15". Mine is 16" and was told I had to go to dealer for a replacement. Technically, I don't believe a Toyota cover will be any superior to what Walmart is selling - it's all plastic, and Toyato will charge 5x more easily. Is there any place that I can go to for a whatever brand wheel cover, relatively in the Walmart or Pepboys kinda price range for a set of 4? I live in Orange County, CA. So any where in OC or LA will work, or online. Thanks a lot.

You could try going to a salvage yard and getting an OEM replacement that matches the other three.

aside: This is the only post on MeFi with a tag of "16". I resolve to use it on every post I make from now on.

This site will let you search the stocks of lots of auto salvage places. Looks like the going rate for an OEM wheel cover is $35-$45ish.

Most Toyota dealers stock non-Toyota covers in their Parts department, to pick up the business of those who don't want to pay the high price of OEM covers. At the least, they will be able to tell you where to go.

Response by poster: Good news: I got it from Autozone and paid $30 for a set of 4. They look just as good as Toyota originals.
