Can the interior lining of leather boots be repaired?

I have a great pair of Fluevog leather boots lined with leather on the inside. The leather lining has worn through inside one heel cup and is starting to rip more and more every time I wear them. Is it possible to get this fixed at a reasonable cost? Anyone know a shoe repairer in NYC who would do a good job? I want to save my boots! Thanks!

I can't find his business card right now, and unfortunately I don't even know if he's still in business - hopefully the rising rent hasn't driven him out yet. There's an old guy with a shop on Ninth avenue, somewhere between 46-48 street, on the east side of the avenue (your left if you're moving in the same direction as the traffic on Ninth). The shop has no phone, fax, and no email (according to the business card I can't find), but the guy has saved quite a few of a friend's boots, and a really messed up pair of Doc Martens of mine. Didn't cost me much either. I'll post later if I can find the card.

I'm a fan of the guys on Ninth between 58 and 59 (might be 57 and 58), east side of the ave.

A friend of mine went to the New York store on Mulberry (here) and got a recommendation for a local cobbler. He said it was very cheap.

fluevog is actually really, really good about doing free shoe repairs. i've had my 'vogs repaired 3 times for free or really cheap (only charging cost of the new sole, not the labour, for instance)
i'd go to the actual fluevog shop first (on mulberry st), politely ask them if they can fix it, and see that they think.
