Cute Hair and Fun Bar in Seattle

Emergency! Seattle and Edmonds/Mukilteo: Need a killer haircut and a fun bar in the area this weekend-
Here are my parameters:
Haircut: have to be able to drop in or get an appointment for Friday or Saturday. I have curly hair. I hate messing with it. I love a stylist who will look at my hair, think of something fun to do, and run with it (I'm not a control freak about it at all). This could be in Seattle proper, wherever.
Bar: Friend lives in the Mukilteo/Edmonds area. My goal is to find some great bar-good drinks, nosh, even dancing! close enough to the area that we can catch a cab home.
Any gratuitous area breakfast advice would be much appreciated, as well.

Response by poster: Good question. We're in our 30s and married...not looking for a meat market/22 year old/sports bar kinda place. A little flirtation (with a cute bartender, for instance), is always fun. Decent mixed drinks, reasonably priced (avoiding the twelve dollar martini). Music is good, live is even better.

I am no help on the haircut. Mukilteo's not a big place by any means, but I have enjoyed The Diamond Knot microbrewery in my visits there.
The beer is good (although not stellar) and there is no dancing. The interesting thing about Diamond Knot is that many of the meals you have to cook for yourself on a scorching hot stone, served right at your table. I am told it has something to do with how liquor license cost is calculated there; it's cheaper if they also serve food, but there was not enough space for a proper kitchen.

Response by poster: That looks like it's a possibility-live music Saturday nights.
Another bit: we are very anti-chain restaurant and would much rather eat at local places.

check out the matador in ballard, bricco (a wine bar) on queen anne, the zig zag cafe (consistently voted one of the best bars n seattle) in post alley by the pike place market
as for breakfast, the high life in ballard and portag bay cafe in the u district are my absolute favorites.
have a great time!

Diamond Knot is good, but I find the stone thing ridiculous, myself.
If you can make it up into Everett, Scuttlebutt Brewing has good grog, but I note they close at 9:00 PM (!) on a Friday and Saturday (welcome to the Puget Sound region).

As for haircut -- Rudy's is pretty good -- it's definitely a drop-in place, and they have several throughout Seattle. I think it's about 80% men who I usually see there, and the women who are there usually seem to be getting some sort of "maintenance" cut, not a major restyle (I don't know your gender -- I've been assuming female but that's probably not a fair assumption).
At any rate, it all sort of depends on the stylist. When he's there, I try to ask for Jamie (big guy with a mohawk) if I go to the U-District one. But you're probably just better off going to the Phinney location -- the stylists seem to do an overall better job.
I am male. YMMV.

On the hair question only:
I had a recent great (curly hair) experience at Gary Manuel's Phase 3 salon in Belltown. I called and asked for someone who would be good with curly hair. It's a good place to go for a balance of price & quality -- the stylists are all in training to work at Gary Manuel proper. This means that many (if not all) of them have been stylists for quite a while (mine has been a stylist for 8 years), they're just getting extra training before they start at Gary Manuel.
That said, I would say the best known (and high quality, just more expensive) curly hair place in Seattle is Vain. I've also had really good experiences there. Again, ask for someone who specializes in curly hair.

Response by poster: I am a woman-sorry for not making that clear.
Thanks for the great recommendations so far. The Phase 3 salon sounds like what I am looking for-good stylists in training, so not insanely expensive. I am hesitant to go for anything too barbershopish, as I think it's really easy to cut curly hair really badly.
It sounds like I might be out of luck for a good drinking and dancing bar in my area...unless we want to make like the Costanzas and be done for the early bird special.
Keep the great recs coming.

Oh, god, do NOT go to Rudy's with your hair. I beg you.

Just a note, anything south of North Seattle (100th st), which includes Belltown, Ballard, Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, et al, is not really "just a cab ride" to Edmonds or Mukilteo.
