Did somebody say bacon chocolate?

Where in San Francisco can I acquire a Vosges bacon chocolate bar for my birthday?
My birthday in on Thursday, and all I really want is a Vosges bacon bar. I am absolutely entranced by it. I've bought other Vosges bars in various places at various times, but I haven't seen the bacon bar anywhere, and I don't have time to order one from their website. Any ideas for places in the city where I could hunt down this particular Vosges bar so that I might celebrate the day of my birth with sweet, salty, bacony chocolate deliciousness?

The Whole Foods in Portland has it. Maybe one in San Francisco does, too.

I got one recently at the Whole Foods at 4th and Harrison, however they haven't had them the last two times I've visited. Happy birthday, I hope you find one!

Just want to say that I didn't even know this product existed before this question...it sounds like HEAVEN. And I am extra excited to be posting this comment from the coffeeshop just down the block from the Bittersweet Chocolate Cafe. I think I know where I'll be stopping on the way home. Thanks MeFites!

Good luck!
If you can't find it, perhaps a nice NYC or Chicago mefite can send one to you. I've definitely seen them in the Vosges store in Soho, Manhattan.
(My opinion was that it was good but needed more bacon. And it's definitely not as good as their bacon-chocolate truffle.)

Or a Portland mefite. I know we have them here.

Wow, I've never heard of this but NOW I MUST HAVE IT.
My opinion was that it was good but needed more bacon.
This is pretty much true of everything.

pssst, some of you might be interested in this thread. That's where I first heard of and began to covet bacon chocolate. Thanks for reminding me to get some.

I can't help with your search but just wanted to add that I wish you godspeed on this noble quest. I have lusted after the Vosges bacon bar myself for some time, so I think I'm going to follow your lead and order me one for my upcoming birthday.
This could become a movement.
I'm thinking that if you wrap a few extra strips of bacon around it, creating a sort of Bacon Bar Rumaki, that might remedy the "needs more bacon" situation.

Bittersweet Chocolate Cafe is indeed OUT of bacon chocolate. Part of me feels my life is richer for knowing about this magical product, but the other part mourns the loss of the love I have never known. They don't call it Bittersweet for nuthin'.

I'm happy to report that during my last visit to Hayes Valley, the wonderful women at Miette (449 Octavia) actually were giving out samples of the Vosges bacon bar. Enjoy!

If you haven't been to that shop, the visit in itself is a treat. Happy Birthday!

Bizarrely, I just had a piece of this very Vosges sweet one hour ago. I thought it had too much bacon, which I know is blasphemy to some.
I would offer to post them to bacon-chocolate-craving MeFites, if it weren't still 90 degrees in Dallas.

Definitely needs more bacon, but overall it's okay (though not worth $7, IMO). Salty chocolate with fun crunchies. I picked mine up from Whole Foods.
