Golf Clubs

I'm looking for a set of decent, inexpensive (under $200.00) golf clubs. I'd like to buy new, and I'll probably use them 2 or 3 times a year. Any recommended brands? Ones to avoid?

Sorry to exceed your question's scope, but so many wealthy people buy new clubs every season that great, inexpensive, barely used clubs can be had for a song. Your insistence on buying new is going to keep the best club for the money out of your hands.

I'm not a club snob, but I believe that you'll be hard pressed to get quality clubs for $200.

your swing is WAAY more important. :-)

ditto.

Listen to the boys from the MeFi 19th hole. They speak truth!

My advice, if you're only going to use them a few times a year, spend $10 on renting them each time and spend the remaining $170 on a bunch of lessons.

No idea what level you're at but I'm use we could all you a little help!

Also, I don't think you could even buy a "value" set of clubs for $200 - buy used!

Here's an example of some high-quality, inexpensive clubs that a beginner should be able to hit pretty well. You'd have a few bucks left to pick up a decent used driver.

If you're a lefty, let me know and I'll cut you a deal on some "experienced" clubs.

Response by poster: OK - I get it. What brands of used clubs - that I can get as a set for under $200 - should I focus in on?
