spider pig, spider pig: where can I get the sheet music for piano and the choir libretto for this simpsons movie song?

My google searches haven't turned up anything useful with these keywords. I tried to just play it until it sounds about right, but so far it doesn't. Also, I'd like to get the instructions for the choir. Oh, and then, eventually, I'd like to get it out of my head.

Best answer: The problem is, you should be searching for "Spider-Man", which is the actual song.

Best answer: You know it's based on the Spiderman tv show theme song, right?

For about $25: Spiderman and other tv songs

Best answer: It'll probably come out as sheet music someday, but it'll probably be PVG only. If you want the full score, you unfortunately probably have no options, except listening to it over and over again and transcribing what you hear.

fvox13, I Googled PVG and I got nothing relevant to sheet music. What is PVG? Here's my vote and polite request for fewer idiosyncratic abbreviations on AskMetaFilter. Thank you.

I can play the Spiderman Theme on the ukulele, using chords A minor, D minor, and E7.

That's not the libretto or the melody line, but it might steer you in the right direction. After all, do you really need the libretto for "Spider Pig"?

And by the way, you haven't heard the Spiderman Theme until you've heard it on a ukulele.

jim: really? because "pvg sheet music" brings up a number of hits for me. Without reading the links that google returns, it's possible to deduce it stands for 'Piano, Voice, Guitar'.

often google searches return best results when you enter more than one keyword. GoogleGuide appears to offer a pretty neat interactive tutorial for learning how to search with google.

If you want to provide me with a recording I could transcribe it (for a fee) in whatever format you want. My e-mail is in my profile.

Sorry, yes, PVG does stand for "piano, voice, guitar". In other words, it has a piano part written out, plus a vocal line and guitar chord symbols above that.

PVG is a lot further along than "I picked out a few notes but it isn't right." I don't know if "spider pig" even HAS a full orchestral score. PVG is prob'ly good enough, and there are plenty of places that will sell you simple piano or guitar sheet music for TV jingles.

Response by poster: DOH! I'll check out the spiderman song score then. I can probably transscribe Homer's version myself, but the choir version is more tricky. Thanks all!
(And spiderpig on the ukulele sounds cool indeed)

I don't know if "spider pig" even HAS a full orchestral score.

During the credits, there is a version done by a full orchestra with choir. So one must exist.

Well sure, in the locked vaults of the Simpsons orchestral archives. You could always hit up Alf Clausen, but I don't think you'll get very far...
