What kind of aperitif did I drink?

I tried an aperitif wine this weekend - what was it? A bartender served me two French aperitif wines over ice - one was red and one was white. The white (and the red to some degree) tasted like bourbon, except a bit milder, smoother, and sweeter. What were these wines?

Probably vermouth, probably one of those:
# Martini (Italy)
# Cinzano (Italy)
# Noilly Prat (France)
# Dubonnet (France)

Could also have been Lillet, which I believe comes in red and white versions.

Yep, Lillet is getting a lot more attention in food circles lately.

Best answer: Perhaps call the bar (or event) you were at and ask? I'm sure they would be happy to give you those details.
