Blogger as portable bookmarks [more inside]

It sucks when I'm at a friends house or work or on vacation and want to check the 25+ or so websites I check daily quickly and without extra effort, so I was thinking about just using blogger. But can I do highlighted sectioning like in my IE browser? Like can I highlight the word 'blogs' which will bring up a list of types of blogs - sports blogs, community blogs, political blogs - and I could highlight over 'community blogs' and a third list would come up - slashdot, metafilter, boing boing?

An additional question: does the new blogger have free image uploading yet?

If you just want a good system for maintaining links, I recommend del.icio.us.

I second the vote for Del.icio.us. It's great.

You could just create an account at blo.gs and manage all your favorites there. That's what I do.

Response by poster: del.icio.us. doesn't seem to be infinitely subdividable which is what is important. For instance if I had a religion folder I would like to be able to separate Christianity and Judaism, and then I would like to further divide Judaism into Reform and Orthodox. Maybe in the Orthodox "folder" would then be a Torah folder, a Folklore folder, etc. Also what it is just as important is like in my browser I don't have to click my way through this labyrinth of links, I just highlight and the folder pops up. Is there anyway to repeat this convenience but online? Maybe just something I could do in html in blogger?

You mean storage for the images? No.

A way to get the images to your own server? Yes, but why wouldn't it be free? Not exactly something you can charge for.

I haven't tried it, but you may want to look at this: MyBookmarks.com.

Reading another thread I'm guessing they do offer image storing (in a roundabout way) so I stand corrected.

He won't pimp it, but Far Fetch is yet-another-bookmark-manager written by a MeFi member. Then there is Back Flip, YABM.

I use del.icio.us, and a couple of MT blogs, with way too many mysql calls to and from the MT db.

Why not use Movable Type. It's what I use for my bookmarks. I can update from anywhere and add as many categories as I desire.
