"Have you ever been touched by a wolf skin?" Uh, come again?

"Have you ever been touched by a wolf skin?" One glorious evening I was taking the dog for a walk when I had one of those moments. Like Saul struck down from his horse so too was I struck by a mighty light. Of course, this light wasn't god. No, it was a street lamp illuminaiting a car underneath it. And on that back window, was this. Digging through the deepest of Google's mines I have come up empty, and turn to you oh wise and learned ones. What in the name of god does this mean? Do you think I should ask my neighbor who walks around in a crotchless panda suit? (no such neighbor exists, sadly.) Thank you

Looks like an inside joke.

Was it on the inside or the outside?

I'm with rhizome on it being some sort of (bizarre) inside joke.

While the crotchless panda suit may well have something to do with the wolf skin, I do not recommend talking to the neighbor who walks around in the crotchless panda suit under any circumstances.

I have seen many oddments of this variety, on the bicycles and venue bathroom walls and free weekly periodical distribution boxes of Minneapolis (though never this particular one). They often have to do with bands or obscure movements. Given it is not even a proper sticker but a taped-on printout or photocopy, I'd say it is a very inside joke. Unless exactly the right person happens by here you're probably SOL. Next walk bring a post-it pad and a pen and leave a note begging for mercy on your curiosity via email. And follow up if you figure it out!

I'm 4th-ing inside joke, but it could have something to do with a band.

Or maybe someone thought it would be cool to put some really bizarre stuff on cars just to weird people out...

You could leave a note on the car directing them to this thread.

Bonus points if you do it in the style of the original: just a cartoon head and the URL...

Response by poster: Thank you all for your responses.

I hope it is not an inside joke but rather the occult signs of an underground fraternity that makes even the Illuminati shutter.

I do think I will put the URL of this under their wiper blade.

It kinda reminds me of Obey Giant.

Dammit quin! I was just about to say "Wolf Skin has a posse."

I suppose technically I did just say it.

Amazon and Bookfinder are failing me, but I remember a book in the mid-90's about a wolf women club at one of the Seven Sister colleges during the 40's and 50's--I think it was Vassar.

Viral advertising?

Response by poster: Brujita: this car also has a bumper sticker that say "Mustache Rides - 5 cents" so I think it might be very low brow. But I will keep my eyes open for such a book.

Iviken: Nothing says outdoor adventure quite like a chubby gal who looks like a psychic. Though it would be supremely awesome if it were.

Thanks you all.
