What is this song from the movie "Lost Highway".
During the part later on in the film when Patricia Arquette and Balthazar Getty have sex in the desert in front of the car headlights, a song plays that is not on the actual Lost Highway soundtrack (which I have). It's a long, dreamy sequence. What is the song?

I believe it is by This Mortal Coil - the track is called "Song to the Siren".

If you like that one, there are three excellent TMC CDs. This Mortal Coil is a project of Ivo who is the label boss for 4AD. For a few years he would gather a crew of 4AD artists and hangers on and produce a record of dreamy ambiance and spacy covers. SttS is on It'll End in Tears, if memory serves. My personal favorite is Blood, which I would highly recommend if Song to the Siren strikes a chord with you.

And the voice is Elisabeth Frasier (Cocteau Twins), I believe.

Lovely tune, but I don't think TMC ever matched it again. If you like it, you may love Tim Buckley, who did the original version that's every bit as good (and probably better) than the TMC version - even performing it on "The Monkees." Check that out too.
