Sick kit delivery in NYC?

Much like this question, I want to deliver a care package to a family member who is ill. However, I'm in Chicago, and she's in New York (Brooklyn, to be precise). I'd love to send her some matzoh ball soup, decongestants, tea, and other goodies for the infirm. Any suggestions? (My yahoo search inadvertently went to the web as a whole an I found this and I was all "Sweet!" until I realized it was just an idea.)

I'd consider hopping on Craigslist and posting a job description for someone to pick up these things and deliver them. Payment to be made upon receipt.

Grandma's Chicken Soup looks like a nationwide delivery service. You can choose noodles or matzoh balls, and they have get-well packs that include tea, cookies and more. I don't think they can send medicine though, or at least they don't seem to.

Some information like where in Brooklyn and what your budget is would help.

Having said that, I would call Blue Ribbon Brooklynfor the food (it's pricey but very good) and a mom and pop pharmacy that delivers. The delivery time would vary unless you called both as pick up orders and had a messenger service take care of the delivery.

Out of all the links I've listed, I've only been to Blue Ribbon Brooklyn.

Response by poster: She is in Williamsburg, around 7th and Wythe. My budget is flexible (ok, I'm not about to pay the $1400 for hand delivery of Grandma's Chicken Soup) but I was thinking around $50. Is that reasonable?

Thanks for the advice!

Northside Pharmacy is like 2 blocks from 7th and Wythe.
(718) 387-6566

Kasia's for the food? - 718-387-8780

I did this, funnily enough, for my boyfriend in Chicago. I didn't do the food though, but the delivery from the pharmacy came to about $36. (included was cold/cough medicine and pain patches and an ankle brace so your cost would probably be less)

Response by poster: Well, a basic food care package has been delivered. None of the actual kosher delis delivered so I had to arrange for a car service through the owner of one place. But it was cheaper than the messenger service which wanted 70$!

It wound up being two Hasidic gentlemen from Landau's deli delivering the package, and it was very well received. I quote from her IM:

"Hahhaha so good. Hasids don't f*** around"

Everyone, thank you so much for the help!
