How can I find young musicians to hire in London?

I'm interested in hiring some musicians for some steady part time work in the West London area. Other than Craiglist and Gumtree, are there any free or inexpensive places I could advertise?
It's performing for kids so I don't necessarily need pro musicians but rather just some good amateur ones looking to earn a few bucks. I tried Gumtree and Craiglist and the response was pretty light so just wondering if anyone has better suggestions.

Put up adverts where the bottom section is tear off slips with your contact details on, and put them up in recording studios, rehearsal rooms, music shops, record shops... I live in Manchester and see things like this all over the place. I shouldn't think that any of those options are too expensive.

Call up a recording studio and ask. They can recommend some reliable session players. Your local musicians union might publish a directory as well.

Contact the conservatoires: Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Trinity School of Music, Faculty of the Arts at Thames Valley University (formerly London College of Music). They'll all give you classical, jazz & pop ensembles - it's not clear what you want. RCM runs its own agency, whereas at TVU you'll need to make a poster for the noticeboard.

Response by poster: Thanks for the ideas. Reaching out to schools is a good one and I'll also post on meta jobs. The singers from recording studios might be a too expensive for me I think.
