How do I get my Home Folder back on my Mac? It is running OSX 10.4.8. I went to drag it over to the app "Back Up" and it smoked out on me. Does anyone have any idea how to get it back in the left hand column of the finder?

I was trying to make a back up of my home folder. I launched Back Up and, as directed, I drug it over to the Back Up and it turned into smoke and disappeared. The problem is I can't figure out how to get it back. Any ideas?

Best answer: Go to finder->preferences, and tick "home"

Best answer: Go to the hard drive and open it. click on the users folder and open it. find your account's home icon and drag it to the sidebar.

Oh, and whatever is on the sidebar or on the Dock is only an alias. moving it or trying to drag it onto another icon (as you did) will make it go poof.

Response by poster: That did it. It is always the simple answer that works. Thanks all!
