Help my friend get a cheap, good hotel in Stockholm! Travelling with baby daughter!
My friend is going with his wife and baby daughter to Stockholm between 5th and 7th of February (staying overnight 5th and 6th). So far everywhere he has looked has been really expensive. They need somewhere to stay that has a cot for baby, is close to the city centre, and is family friendly if possible.
Also, any ideas for things for them to do in Stockholm would be great.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If they can live with hostel rather hotel standards I can recommend Långholmens vandrarhem which is situated in an old prison right in town. A few of my friends have stayed there and they liked it. http://www.langholmen.com/indexEn.html

I was in Stockholm a few weeks ago and I stayed at the IYHF Youth Hostel Zinkensdamm. I stayed in the hostel part, but it is a hotel as well. It is cute, the people there were really nice, and I saw lots of kids staying there, plus it is walking distance to Gamla Stan, (it is located on Södermalm). It looks like they could get a private room for two for about 100 US.
The museums in Stockholm are fantastic, and usually free. The Historiska museet was my favorite. The Gold Room and the Viking exhibit there are phenomenal.
And to keep the toddler happy, a visit to Skansen is delightful.

HRS is my favourite hotel booking site - however the cheapest they have for that weekend is the Ibis at $125 / £63 and 7.8km from the centre. Closer to the centre it goes right up to £120.
I stayed at Formule 1 when I was there in 2005, which was cheap, not too far by underground, but not exactly family friendly (they may have cots though, who knows).
