Why do card dealers and bankers wear green visors?

What is the point of wearing the transparent green visor commonly seen being worn by card dealers and anyone counting large sums of money in the movies?

The purpose of the green visor or eyeshade is to lessen eyestrain.

Also, poker dealers began wearing the visor because they were also in charge of handling the money and keeping track of player accounts, in the manner of an accountant.

Working under incadecent lights one needs to filter out excessive red from the bulb, same reason theaters have a green room.
