Recommendations on London conversions/new builds to rent come the new year
So, the missus and I are looking to move come February. We're looking for either a new build or a conversion (lots of light light, cleanliness = good) with non-ancient washer/dryer and dishwasher.
Can really be anywhere around London (or indeed just inside), provided its less than an hour and a half to baker street and liverpool street.
High windows are a plus - we're currently in Bow Quarter (converted matchstick factory) and the galleried bedroom/double story windows are lovely - problem is none of the apartments seem to have dryers/dishwashers!
Budget is from £1-1.5k/month for a 1 bed.
Any recommendations on developments to keep an eye on?

Best answer: I live in Whitechapel, just off Commercial Road, and this development just went up at the end of my street. Many of the flats on upper floors have double height windows. I know the site mentions "shared ownership", but there are several for rent signs outside.
We're pretty central - I can walk to either financial district, The City or The Docklands, in about 25 minutes. The Thames is only a ten minute walk, Tate Modern perhaps 30 minutes.
Council tax runs me about £59 quid / month, and there are several large parks (e.g., Stepney Greene) nearby. I bought down here about five years ago, and it's gentrifying at a very rapid pace.
Hope this helps!!
