I need zip!

I have cordless blinds and they've lost their zip. They are the kind of blinds that you pull on slightly at the bottom and then the cord is pulled up at the top, raising the blind. Now when I pull on it, nothing happens. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Other than buy new blinds?
