Searching for Sexual Healing remake...

Name that remake? I was in a restaurant this weekend and heard what seemed to be a remake of Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing."

How to describe it... it was fairly mellow, modern-lounge-y with the bass-line looping... It would be right at home on one of the Hotel Costes compilations.

We asked the waitress who said it was by a group called "Hard Stone." Google search and iTunes searches have come up blank and we think she was wrong, and that, perhaps it was a song that just used samples from the song.

Any hope?

Ben Harper does a great version... but his is acoustic and I've only ever heard it done live (or on live recordings). You can download his shows on archive.org.

Sounds like the Soul Asylum cover that was on No Alternative.

Response by poster: And, upon listening without the soundtrack of loud talking and clinking of plates... it's just the bassline and has nothing to do with Sexual Healing.

(The restaurant, btw, was Snack Taverna -- a greek restaurant here in NYC -- and is highly recommended.)

Hot Chip just did a great cover of "Sexual Healing." Electronic and chill [what version isn't though?]. This blog has it in a larger zip file with other songs.

Could it be this version of Let's Get It On mixed with Peter Gabriel's Digging in the Dirt by the Kleptones (which rhymes with Hard Stone, sorta, and I always confuse Let's Get It On for Sexual Healing myself)?
