Where to find large data sets in Excel / PDF / etc. format

Looking for statistical data of United States economy / consumption / production in Excel (or other) format to convert to XML

I'm looking to do some visualizations of U.S. economic consumption and production, and would need the final form to be in XML format for the software I am interested in using (Processing). I have looked around at sites like: Economic Research Services, but would like more options (other than farm-related).

Does anybody have any ideas?

Another potential source is the Organization for Economic Development.

Here is what i bookmarked as useful data sets.. It also comes with a set of instructions on how to get more. Try it, you'll like it.
