Mariachi bands for hire in Portland, OR?

The future Mrs. pdb and I are getting married in Portland on May 5 next year. As such, we thought it would be cool to have a mariachi band play for an hour during dinner, before the DJ shows up. We're struggling to find a mariachi band, though. Does anybody out there know of a mariachi band for hire in Portland?

Contact the musician's union. Even if the guys aren't unionized, you should get some leads.

La Carretta had a mariachi band years ago. Don't know if they still have 'em but it's worth a call.

Depending on whether you're looking for a bona fide mariachi band or more of a mariachi-esque band-like entity, you could probably find local musicians willing to fake it, too.

Gimme a day to get contacts put together, but I have buddies-of-buddies that are in at least two bands.

Not a problem. Waiting for people to get back to me now with contact info. I can't keep track of what everyone's doing now, but I know Kulani was in a Mariachi band for a while.

This is an awesome idea. I attempted this at my wedding but my husband wouldn't go for it.
One of my friends in LA had a kid's mariachi band from a local school at her reception.
