what to do in bucharest

I am traveling to Bucharest next week for work and do not know anyone there or what to do. I have little time and have more interest in people than buildings or artifacts. Any suggestions?

I really prefer wandering and experiencing things and only have a few evenings and a Sunday. I would love to meet and talk to people while I am there, but I am trapped in this language.

I know you're not interested in buildings but you should try to see the Ceaucescu Palace. It was unfortunately closed while I was there but I'll bet it's amazing inside.

Aside from that, I wandered the streets a lot and sat in cafes. People were friendly and quite a few spoke English so I'm sure you won't have much trouble.

If you really want to "experience things", I hear there's interesting things to do at some of the hostels. I know that's Czechoslovakia, not Romania, but still.
