Best place to sell used CDs in the SF Bay Area?
I just moved and would like to get rid of most of my old CDs which are just taking up valuable space. I live in SF but find myself in Oakland and Berkeley often enough. Wondering what other peoples experiences have been selling old CDs at different stores in the area, Amoeba vs. Rasputins, for example. I'm not trying to make a ton of money, just wanna clear up some space and have it be worth the time it takes me to lug a heavy box to the store. Thanks!

Have you considered churning your collection at lala.com? Trade used CDs with other lala members for $1.50 per trade, and 20% of the proceeds go to the artists.

You can also sell them online at secondspin.com and similar sites. And you can probably ship them media mail.

A second vote for Rasputin. They actually took the time to value each and every CD in a stack of dozens, and clearly explained how they arrived at the price they would offer. It was nice to know in a pile of what I considered crappy CDs they found gems of gold worth more than I thought they'd be worth.

Amoeba classifies your CDs like kuppjava says, but doesn't explain anything. What I like about them is, they usually take everything I bring in (which is the objective -- I'm doing this more to get rid of old stuff, rather than to get a fair trade).
