Photo scanning service in Austin, TX?

Anyone have any experience with a photo scanning service in Austin, TX?
A friend is looking to have a few dozen photos scanned. Does anyone have any experience with any place in Austin, TX? I've checked Precision Camera, but they seem a bit pricey: $3/scan. Or is that the price that my friend should expect?

I'm about to see a friend who works at Wolf Camera (in the Central Market complex). I'll ask.
Also, does your friend still have the negatives? Because it's a lot cheaper to take the negative in and have the photos put on CD. Or you could go to Kinko's and do the scanning yourself.

Response by poster: I think my friend only has prints (culled from friends and family for a special occasion) and has run out of time - which is why the service is needed instead of scanning them themselves.

So at that price he's looking at 75 bucks? He'd be better off buying a scanner.

Ooops, missed the part about time, though scanning them himself wouldn't necessarily take longer.

From friend at Wolf says they charge $2 a scan, or the customer can scan it him/herself in-store for the same price as digital development.
