Experimental Gardeners!!! Will flowers grow in wine? (or any sort of alcohol?)

Weird question, I know, but flowers, and then wine came up in conversation - and we were wondering. Anyone stumble upon this answer?

I bet not. Not too many things survive in 12% ethanol. That's presumably why the yeast make it - to kill off their competitors.

But not over 10% ethanol.

You can also try Hydrogen Peroxide - oxygenated vegetables produce significantly higher yield - FYI.

(Also, according to the article StickyCarpet links to, the sugar in wine is bad for plants.)

It seems that your plants would prefer a dry wine spritzer.
